Worthless Checks
A worthless check, less than
$2,000.00 may be disposed of without out requiring you to appear in
court. Your appearance in court may be waived upon your plea of guilty to
the offense and payment of the amount of the check indicated on your
summons and court costs established by law.
To pled guilty and waive your
appearance in court, place a copy of the summons in an envelope along
with the Criminal District Court Costs. Click “Where to Make Payments” to the
left and follow the instruction for making payments to the court.
[If
you have appealed you case to the Superior Court or the worthless check
exceeds $2,000.00 these instructions do not apply. You must appear in court on your court
date.]
