Witnesses for the Ceremony
You are required to have two witnesses appear at the ceremony for purposes
of witnessing the wedding. It is advised that you bring these witnesses
with you. If you chose to select unknown persons after arriving for the
ceremony, you do so at your own peril. Should the paperwork be completed
by the magistrate, and your witnesses leave before the ceremony, the
ceremony will not be performed and you will be required to obtain and pay
for a new marriage license.
Fees to Perform The Ceremony
The costs for performing the ceremony are set by law and required to be
collected by the magistrate in advance. The magistrate cannot accept
personal checks. You should present cash, certified check or money order
payable to the "Clerk of Superior Court" to the magistrate
prior to the ceremony.
(If paying cash, please bring the exact amount since in most instances
the magistrate's cannot make change.)
