Raleigh - Court of Appeals Judge Hugh Campbell administered the oath of office to the newest member of the State Board of Community Colleges, George E. Battle, III on June 15.  The ceremony took place at 9 a.m. at the Caswell Building at the beginning of the June Community College Board meeting. Battle, a Charlotte attorney, said he looked forward to serving the citizens of the state. Battle received his undergraduate and law degrees from UNC-Chapel Hill, where he was student body president. He is an associate corporate counsel for Carolinas HealthCare System.  Battle follows in the footsteps of his father, Bishop George Battle, II, who also served on the Community College Board.
